I am filled with hope for 2022. Why? Because I know the God of all hope, and I know that He is writing my story. My hope is in the Lord, not in the circumstances or situations that surround me, not in my relationships, my job or my bank account balance. HE is my hope, and when I place my hope in Him, my perspective changes.
Romans 15:13 (NIV) “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
I’m learning day by day that I get to choose the direction of my thoughts. When I wake up I can choose hope, joy, peace and more for the day ahead! Jesus empowered us to do that when He declared we are new creations, the old is gone the new has come. So, when I’m tempted to go down the ‘what if?’ spiral or allow negative thoughts to bounce around my head, I am empowered through Jesus to CHOOSE differently. I remind myself that:
- His joy is my strength.
- He is my good shepherd and I lack nothing.
- I am safe in the shadow of His wings.
- No weapon formed against me will prosper.
- He will never leave me or forsake me.
- I am a new creation in Christ Jesus.
- Nothing is impossible with Him.
- He loves me with an everlasting love.
- His resurrection life flows through my veins.
- All His promises are yes and amen.
When I declare those things I feel my hope level rising, because I’ve chosen to speak His truth, His hope into my situation. When I do this I see with heavenly perspective instead of earthy perspective; and heavenly perspective is always full of hope.
At our January 02 Sunday Service, Louise shared this word: “This year would be a year of overcoming (to come off victorious) for us at The Bridge (both personally and corporately). Overcoming anything that’s holding us back or trying to prevent us from being and doing what He’s called us to. Letting go of our ‘will’ and being obedient to His will. Clearing our vision and focusing on what’s important to Him. Where personal difficulties have tried to stop us in our faith walk, or become like heavy backpacks we’re carrying, we are going to overcome by our continued and persistent faith in Him. By the blood of the Lamb and by our testimonies.”
What a powerful word as we begin this new year!
As we start 2022, I want to encourage you… remember that you are an overcomer and live from a place of victory. Remind yourself that you are empowered to choose to declare His truth and see from heavenly perspective. Be filled with hope because the God of all hope lives in you.
